Since graduating from Dalhousie University in 2007, Banke's practice has focused exclusively on Family Law, with emphasis on Matrimonial Property, Domestic Violence, Custody, Child, and Spousal Support cases. Her international background working with families underscores her understanding of the practice of Family Law.
Banke has consistently advocated for her clients, guiding both men and women through difficult divorces and complex family issues. Her swift approach to litigation, coupled with her dedication to her clients, has enabled her to best achieve her clients' goals and safeguard their interests. Since her certification to represent children in 2018, Banke has represented many children in high-conflict family law matters. She has displayed and maintained a high level of objectivity and neutrality in her role as children's counsel and as an officer of the court. In addition to her litigation prowess, Banke is a Practicing Mediator and has obtained her King's Counsel designation.
Banke counsels expertly, fights tooth and nail when needed, negotiates and mediates when appropriate and ensures that you are comfortable every step of the way.

Emma is an Associate Lawyer with Adept Family Lawyers, practising predominantly in Family Law. Emma represents clients on Family Law issues including but not limited to custody, child support, spousal support, and division of property. She is a skilled litigator. She has successfully represented clients at the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal of Alberta. Emma is also a skilled negotiator, advocating for resolution through Alternative Dispute Resolution processes in appropriate circumstances.
Additionally, Emma offers clients legal services in the areas of Wills and Estates, recognizing that upon separation, parties often have legal needs beyond the scope of Family Law.
She was the recipient of the David Beatty History Award during her studies at Mount Allison University, where she graduated with the highest GPA among history honours students. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of New Brunswick. During Law School, Emma worked extensively with the Public Legal Education and Information Service of New Brunswick, and she continues to advocate for access to justice today.
Outside of the office, Emma enjoys travelling, skiing, hiking, and running with her dog.

Talvir is an Associate Lawyer with Adept Family Lawyers, practicing in the areas of Family, Criminal, and Immigration. Prior to joining Adept Family Lawyers, Talvir articled at a mid-size full-service firm in Calgary wherein she appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta, Provincial Court of Saskatchewan, and Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.
While attending law school, Talvir volunteered at a Miscarriages of Justice Pro Bono Clinic, where she offered legal services to individuals falsely accused in criminal matters. Talvir understands that each client’s situation differs case by case and she is there to listen and guide her clients throughout the litigation process. Her approach is more practical and, on the ball. She works with her clients to arrive at constructive and realistic solutions.
Outside of the office, you can find Talvir spending time with her family and friends, and her dog, Miko.

Raman is an Associate Lawyer with Adept Family Lawyers, practising in the areas of Family Law, Real Estate and Criminal Law. Prior to joining Adept Family lawyers, Raman worked at a boutique law firm in Calgary, where she gained invaluable experience representing clients at the Provincial Court and the Court of King's Bench of Alberta.
Raman's passion is mainly in the courtroom, as she walks her clients through all areas that may concern them, stemming from separation all the way to settling in their new homes.
During her master's degree in Intellectual Property & Information Law at King's College London, Raman excelled in legal research and writing. Her participation in Canadian Law Societies Moot Competitiions is a testament to her proficiency in Legal Research, Legal Drafting and Advocacy Skills.
Outside the office, Raman enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, travelling, and caring for her puppy, Teddy.

Simren is an Associate Lawyer with Adept Family Lawyers, practicing primarily in Family Law.
Simren began her academic journey at the University of Victoria where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and developed an understanding of social structures and human behavior. Building on this foundation, she pursued a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, graduating with Distinctions. Her passion for advocating for justice led Simren to pursue a Juris Doctor at Bond University, graduating with First-Class Distinctions. Simren further honed her legal expertise with a Master of Laws at Bond University, with a specialization in Dispute Resolution. Prior to joining Adept Family Lawyers, Simren articled at a Personal Injury firm in Calgary, wherein she appeared before the Court of King's Bench Alberta.
Throughout Simren’s academic journey, she was actively engaged with the community; volunteering at a Community Legal Clinic and gaining hands-on experience through internships at LawRight in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, and Legal Aid Australia. Simren was also an active participant in Moots, Negotiations, and Interview Competitions, refining her advocacy skills and deepening her understanding of legal principles.
Simren holds her Certified Clinical Counsellor and Registered Clinical Counsellor credentials and provides counselling services to individuals, couples, and families, through her own private practice, which allows for a unique perspective on conflict resolution, emotional support, and stress management. Simren's counselling background enhances her ability to listen actively, negotiate effectively, and provide clients with holistic support, whether they are facing a difficult situation, such as divorce or other life-altering legal matters.
Simren's approach is client-centered and empathetic, understanding that legal challenges often come with emotional and psychological hurdles. Simren works to create a safe, open space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. Whether through litigation or negotiation, Simren strives for outcomes that not only achieve legal success but also promote emotional and psychological wellness.

Claudia-Rossy earned her law degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. After moving to Canada, she pursued an LL.M in Canadian Common Law at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Prior to Adept Family Lawyers, Claudia-Rossy gained valuable experience articling with a boutique law firm in Ontario, where she worked primarily in family law, estate planning, and civil litigation. Having completed her articles in Ontario, she is now pursuing her qualification in Alberta, with a strong desire to continue developing her skills in the various areas of law.
Claudia-Rossy’s commitment to service extends beyond her legal career. She volunteered as a researcher for Councillor Rea of the City of Markham shortly after law school, contributing to community initiatives and research projects.
Outside of her professional life, Claudia-Rossy enjoys quiet moments with soulful music and embraces her artistic flair through interior décor and creative projects. She is passionate about action movies, which adds a dynamic edge to her life.

Fang joined Adept Family Lawyers as a Paralegal in February of 2015 and has since been an integral member of our team.
Fang specializes in residential & commercial real estate transactions. Her dedication to her job and our clients is second to none. Fang provides a high level of service and attention to details in all of her Real Estate deals. She remains professional while projecting the ability to empathize with clients’ needs on a daily basis. Her easy-going demeanor brings a sense of calm to all situations.
